Well I've swapped my rather nice and splendid Alfa GTV Lusso for this...

...project. The head gasket recently failed but not boiled just a little oil and water mix (I'll find that out soon).

Hi here for sale is a punto gt turbo 1.4 in black ...this car was taken in part ex from a friend who had had it for some time and was not being used he put a mot on it a couple of months ago and used it until a few weeks ago when the head started to go..he then passed the car onto me against another car..I have no use for it so here it is for sale. The car does start and drive still but oil is mixing with the water turbo is also smoking but it does come with another turbo included in the sale.car is not standard iam told it's running around 170 bhp it has a expensive full stainless exshust system, seb chip, dump valve and upgraded hoses it's on four very good tyres ..it does want attention in places and tidying up drivers door wants a new pin passenger seat has a burn in it rear wiper removed..all windows work dash working all correctly 1 x key part logbook here it does have about 10 months mot on it lots of bills for previous work carried out very solid no rust and paint has a nice shine although it starts and drives due to head and turbo this car will need to be transported away by trailer etc..I am told these cars are getting quite rare now with only less than 50 still on the road..any questions please ask viewing welcome your bidding to buy not mess me around! Sorry to all genuine bidders but the number of idiots on here is endless! Px poss always interested in anything..so please ask also open to a buy it now offer..cash on collection please. I'll add some pictures of the car tomorrow contact number is 07????????? no reserve sold to the highest bidder.

Issues...

One key. I have the de-locked doors and can do my spare tailgate so the car will be secure.

Head job. I negotiated a new head in with the deal. ;)

50 left? There are 154 on the road and 226 SORN.

Project ideas...

As the car is not as rare as expected and pre-modified. Red Alfa leather will look nice with the black coachwork. I don't know if the suspension has collapsed or the car has been "slammed" but we have potholes round here.

But first...

Fit the new head, see what other spares come with the car and sell/give away what I won't need.

M.O.T until October! (y)

Advisory items...

Rear brake pads.
Pitted rear discs.
Surface inner sill corrosion.
Slight mist of oil on the rear shocks.

Observations...

Noisy brakes, so the advisory stuff wasn't addressed.
Mismatching tyres so the car has been on a budget for a while.
Steamy, head gasket was a known issue.
No intercooler (I wondered what that orange painted pipe was for) and slow to boost (head gasket and/or missing intercooler loose pipework).
Drivers side main beam bulb gone.
Kiddie ball pit interior.
Missing parcel shelf.
Drivers door hinge is knackered.
No windscreen wipers at all.

Good weekends work then. ;)

it is a shame, but if i had a spare £600 it would be going towards getting a new place with a drive and garage so that i could buy stuff like this lol... I still got first refusal on my old GT when Eklipze3k gets bored of it (or more likely than bored, just wants something else and needs funds)

I'll be picking my new shed up tomorrow. :slayer:

Not allowed a garage but a shed that happens to have a car inside could work.

As always with any new arrival I like to go a bit CSI and give the car a good clean before I access what needs doing.

Interior...

No tools. No locking wheel bolt remover. :bang: This wouldn't be a problem if any of the four wheels were straight.

LBfLdCD1.jpg

Poo under the rear seat, a hole burned in the front seat, white mastic used to stick the carpet down (to stop it vibrating when the car had a sub enclosure) and the fuel tank cover was left loose (either to drain the tank or change a filter/pump the cover on the tank had not been disturbed so heck knows).

The common rust areas where the boot meets the inner rear wings are both in good order. :)

The interior is showing its age but no where near as bad as I have had in the past.

Loads of scratch marks around the ignition. I guess a previous owner was a drunkard.

Exterior...

The drivers door hinges are knackered (quite a common issue), there is not a single straight panel, the tailgate wiper motor is missing, all the lights apart from one of the main beam bulbs work but my spider senses are telling me these front indicators belong in a skip. ;)

Passenger door dent and...

...the drivers wing liner is missing.

Apart from that as you can see from the first two photo's not bad at all considering the type of car and age it's almost miraculous.

Mechanical...

Okay the turbo does not boost at all.

Yt74NUe8.jpg

This could be serious or it could simply be because the pipework is so bodged the turbo is blowing into the atmosphere.

I'm hoping it's the latter but having to replace all the pipework to find out won't be cheap and could be for nothing.

The wipers do not work at all. I checked the fuse, relay and took the motor out to find it was dead.

While I had the motor off I checked the loom with a multimeter and found it only had voltage (12.43V) with one wiper setting. So if I get a new motor I'll need a new loom or switch as well.

Washer jets need a "T" piece.

I wonder why the radiator and fan have been bodged?

Slightly burned out terminal explains a lot. Why the head gasket failed for one. Also the power steering pump is not connected, the battery terminals are crap, there's no belt cover and until I can get the wheels off I can't change the knackered rear wheel bearings, discs and pads.

Since finding a bag of brown powder in the boot of a dragon green Golf GTI I make sure I strip search a car before I take it out on the road (not that this GT ever will from the looks of things)...

£1.08 some spanners, a blunt kitchen knife and you're probably wondering why the jack has been included. It's a Peugeot 106 one and does not belong in a Fiat.

There is no point jumping straight in with the head gasket change until the new head arrives and I find out for certain why the turbo is not making any boost.

Punto GT power for my X1/9 as I can get some money back selling parts I won't need or just break the whole thing?

expensive full stainless exshust system, seb chip, dump valve and upgraded hoses

Full Stainless Steel exhaust? Standard exhaust with a pigeon crap welded back box.
Seb chip? No way of telling but the ECU bolts do not look to have been undone in the cars life.
Dump valve? Yes I guess.
Upgraded hoses? That have been fitted by someone who's guide dog was going blind as well.

I now have boost! :slayer:

One of the intercooler pipes was loose. I'll still be binning the crapilly bodged pipework but at least I know the turbo is okay. :)

The headlights, fog lights and chavy indicators are out ready to sell on if any of you lot want them they are in the classifieds. ;)

ive put a post up on the punto gt group on facebook sharing your advert for the lights, stick with it, there good fun and it'll be worth it in the end!

I miss having a GTV and inspired by the old Ford Fiesta XRV...

...I could make my Punto GT and Punto GTV.

As the seats are crap anyway it should be straight forward enough. ;)
