Hi is there anyone who has got a exhaust manifold for sale please for a punto gt. Took head off for headgasket and turbo change and found the manifold to be cracked.

Un-cracked ones are getting rare now, blu73 found me one on ebay a few months back for not a lot of money so that'll probably be your best bet.

they all crack eventually it seems - if its not bad a decent welder could fix it, or as above keep an eye on ebay, or fork out on a pretty tubular manifold which sadly no-one would ever see hidden down the back of the engine..

Just swapped my Alfa GTV for a Punto GT. It comes with spares if it has a manifold that's any good I'll let you know.

So what's the difference?

To make the eBay one...

Base plate, laser cut 6mm Stainless Steel £80
Turbo mounting plate, laser cut 6mm Stainless Steel £35-£40 (Optima Stainless prices)
Four ninety degree dairy pipe bends £20 each
Two forty five degree dairy pipe bends £20 each
Two sixty degree dairy pipe bends £20 each
Approximately five feet of connecting pipe £25

...would cost £305 plus time with a TIG welder (that one looks to be machine welded) so by bulk buying and automation to get the price down to a bargain £246 + £35 p&p


The Gazzella Racing manifold is made from bent pipes and baseplates from the looks of it. If done in house the raw material cost will be less, the flow marginally better and they would have to be hand welded due to the shape and size I can't imagine a machine being able to get in there.

Just had a closer look at the photo's and it is cut pipes welded together.

Pretty much the same material cost, more complex design and hand made for nearly three times the price? Ouch!

Wow just saw the link for that £718 +VAT manifold. Funk me sideways my whole car wasn't far off that price. Lol

Welding is probably the cheapest option. No guarantees, but either arc with a rod designed for cast iron or TIG with a stainless steel filler rod. In both cases, manifold should be pre-heated and slow cooled. Specialist job.
