Any other 1.2 GO owners?

Just wondered if there were any other GO owners on here?
Seems there weren't many made? Anyone know how many?

Re: Any other 1.2 GO owners?

After I bought my Mk2 Active Sport with it's 'Go' Badge it seemed that every single Punto around that time (2003) seemed to have one. I didn't know that it was a limited model and that only a certain amount were made.

Always thought that Fiat had just stuck the stickers for 'Go' on any car over a certain time period. As far as I know the 'Go' means nothing really. The cars are no different to any other Punto made at that time.

Maybe someone will give the true reasons though????

I have a Go and no there is no boot light (very annoying when changing a puncture at 1am) but i have the 100w sub in the boot and the interior colour is a bit different.

I have a friend at work (not a forum member) who has a black GO punto, I've only seen a couple.

Re: Any other 1.2 GO owners?

The 'Go' was a special edition based on the 1.2 8v 3dr. It was, to all intents and purposes, a predecessor for the 'Active Sport' that arrived in May 2002 as part of the Punto model-range change.

As it's based on the 1.2 8v it has basic kit (the lack of a boot light is a good example) but it did get the 100 watt sub woofer, body colour bumpers, splash of silver inside, rev counter and temperature gauge, multi-function trip computer, 60/40 split rear seat and nice trim with fabric headrests rather than the manky trim and plastic headrests the 1.2 8v 3dr got.

I think it only came in Blue, black or silver but I could be wrong.

Production was only for a short period of time between late 2001 and spring 2002. It wouldn't surprise me if the odd dealer got rid of the 'Go' badges and re-badged the car as 'Active Sport' once the range changed as the two cars are otherwise the same

Re: Any other 1.2 GO owners?

Thanks for that, my GO doesn't have the sub in the boot though

Very comfy seats though.

Re: Any other 1.2 GO owners?

Ahhhhh, the great 'has it; hasn't it' sub debate.

I think Fiat just shoved a sub in whichever model they wanted as it came down the production line. My sisters 1.2 ELX was only 3 weeks older than my 1.9JTD ELX but hers didn't have a sub; mine did. I checked a 1.9JTD HLX that was built 2 months after mine (better spec model) and guess what? No sub

I saw loads around for a time, maybe the badge's just dropped off in true Fiat fashion.
