(T) Starting problem, help

Hi everyone.

My wifes Punto is having difficulty starting, turn the key, the engine kicks over, doesn't catch then dies, ecu light, oil and battery light come on as if in a stall. Try a few times and the engine catches, rev and away, she goes good as gold. Restart after driving or a cold start no problem.

I've put a shot of Redex in but has anyone any other ideas?

What kind of Punto, i.e. engine: MPI SPI? and Mk

Its a 96P reg 1.1 55, so I suspect that it is single point injection, I'm not sure about the MK.
Put a new battery on and a new air filter today, both were needed, am going to change the plugs at the weekend but I'm thinking fuel sensor or air sensor type problems. I'm not as familiar with the Fiat, as I had a Citroen AX upto two weeks ago but as we have just got married we only needed one car and mine was older so it went to the great scrapyard in the sky. Now the Punto is playing up typical eh. any ideas would be gratefully recieved.
