(T) Warning light on Punto ELX Dashboard

I am constantly getting a warning light on the dashboard of my 2000 Fiat Punto Elx. I have no user handbook so was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what it is - the symbol is in red like this (!) and is contantly coming on and off even when driving.
Any info would be appreciated

Handbrake warning light??? Is your brake fluid low or its the handbrake contact switch.

thanks for your reply - I have figured through trial and error that it is the handbrake light. The handbrake appears to be fine but I have noticed small patches on my drive way when I pull the car out which could indicate some fluid being leaked - I presume I can purchase break fluid anywhere or will I need to send it in to get repaired - Apologies for my lack of car knowledge!!

If it is definaterly brake fluid get it sorted now,dont risk your (& others) safety with poor brakes!
Brake fluid is very cheap so get a small bottle & top up & see if level drops over time.

You'll need to bleed the system mate, wont just be a case of filling the resvoir up.

Monitor its level, if you think there is a problem, kwik fit can do a free brake check if you book the car in.

If it costs you nothing then why not?

Also they can top up your fluids for free also.
