i just wondered, if you've had an oil leak on your Mk 1 punto, where has it been comin from?

yes!

we've had to top up the oil in ours twice now! it once managed to leak bone-dry on a motorway journey - absolutely bizarre!!

it doesnt leave a drop on the driveway so one can only assume its happening under pressure. the coolant is clean so the head gasket must be fine. its mechanically sound, i cant point my finger on it. even changed the oil, sump nut, etc but it still does it.

rubber seal on the engine top cover (valve cover/rocker cover) often leaks, also the camshaft oil seal.

I had the same problem, mine turned out to be a tiny pin hole in my rusty sump. apparently the sumps rust and thats common.

£70 later a new sump pan, sealer and some 10w40 and it was all fixed.
