(G) someone must have bought car seat covers for a mrk2??

Hi I've just bought a Mrk2 fiat punto and can't find car seat covers ot fit anywhere!!! The sporty bits on the sides of the seats stop all uni fit covers from fitting- anyone bought any that fit and where??

Just a little info, if the vehicle has side airbags then you should not fit any seat cover. This applies to all vehicles. The side airbag on the punto is under the plastic cover on the outside of the seat back.

seat covers not my thing. are you just fitting them to protect the seats?

my punto doesn't have side airbags so not a problem - I want to protect them for when i sell the car on and also cover up the electric blue which doesn't go with my nice dark green car.

could always remortgage and buy a set from fiat

just take off the "sporty bits" fit the seat covers and replace the "sporty bits". no universal will fit perfect, but they sould be alright. Take a look at mine, bot 'em of ebay(£25+p&p)

you'rs look like they fit really well- how can you take offthe sode bits? they are part of the seat+your seat covers seem to cover them?

They don't cover them. There should be screws holding them on(shown on pics). Just undo(they don't come right off, but enough to fit the covers), fit covers and screw them back in.

Actually, what do you mean by sporty bits? plastic bits or those sticky outy cushiony bits? lol. If u mean cushiony bits then these ones just slid over nice and easy. They aint really that great a fit, i mean they fit over the seats fine but dont fit tightly to the seat, so lots of space, ie they're quite loose. I could fit them better, but don't really have the time or patience + aint good with a sewing machine, lol.

I got seat covers fitted to my Punto Mrk2 when I bought it, (brand new) in June 2002. I can take some pictures and show you them if you like. They were a dealer fit and quite expensive.
