Question Brake Pad Problems!!!!

Has anyone ever experienced problems with their pads on a mk1 punto 1.2 s team 5dr?
Went to change mine and found the inside pad on the off-side had slipped out/down (although still in) between the caliper and disc. Had worn down at a diagonal and bent the outer part of the pad from where the piston was still pressing on it. no idea how this could happen, let me know what you think!

Re: Brake Pad Problems!!!!

Yeah they have been changed before, the pads i got were from a fiat dealer as i wasn't sure which ones to fit. just can't get my head around how it could slip out as there should be no room for it to do so.

Re: Brake Pad Problems!!!!

maybe the caliper retaining grooves are shot (dealer has taken a file to the rust and inadvertantly (spl??) worn off the grooves.

Even if it was from a dealer they can still get it wrong, unless they take VIN and chassis number etc.

As my March 1998 (registered) 60S has rear drums from sep1998> cars on it, which makes no sense!!!
