What do you hate about the mk2 Punto?

I would sell it but it would be a money loss cause I bought it less then a year ago and did full service and everything
I expected more from the looks, I feel like donkey face from cartoons

So basic stuff acctually....and easy to access ones

So what would you say are the hard to access parts of the car?

Sump plug is stupid for example, some replacement and service operations are tricky and require a trick after things are done to adjust, some sensor wires go round and round inside the tiny hole and some conectors are actually under the intake hose, they even made a lump in a hose so it can fit under it better

plastic is cheap, paint job also, no rust dough - none, everything brakes ratles and sticks out (ashtray, fan holes, cd changer, centre console maybe (or whats inside it))

Eh? the sump plug is fine...

And when you remove the engine you generally have to remove most of the sensor wire out of the way first so I have done that too

So you still haven't answered my question, where are the hard to access parts that I haven't dealt with?

Well I have only had my Mk2 a few months but I must say the following. I have the absolute basic model and I don't think the interior is crap. I really like the gearbox their is a very nice clunk when shifting gears. The handling is quite nice and the engine is very willing considering its very small output. I would like a dash with a rev+temp gauge but its not the annoying. Things that do bug me:

1) The windscreen wipers, the rear one doesn't seem as bad.

But considering the car only cost me 1500euro and its really good on petrol I`m very happy with it. Its much better than my old Fabia (except in build quality )

Dunno cause I havent change them yet, gonna ask people for exact parts, maybe I'm bull****ting what people hear-say and wanna take me money

But any part I wanted to change was a "you have to do some tune or trick" after

1. My driver side light mists and de-mists itself whenever it wants lol. Na, I think if i park the car facing down the drive (on an extremely slight slope) water gets in and mists up, but doesn't happen facing up (but its a pain because i have to reverse out and drive off, not so good when i'm late for work haha :P )

I bet your all saying "don't be late for work then" and your right haha

When the light isn't misted up its still (sorry to say) p155 poor, even passengers and people who've been driving for over 30yrs say its dangerous!


How do i get hold hold of the Brighter bulbs without the expense on Xenon??

After working on Vauxhalls, Fords and Vdubz (home jobbys) and Formula fords and Formula Renaults, yes, its an awkward car to work on, break your arm in ten places jobby. I shouldn't of used the word hard.

I hate dissing my punto but 2 more things,

1. changing passenger side headlight bulb, fusebox gets in the way, not very nice when its freezing outside and fed up with trying to get the backing past the fusebox, so i unscrewed fusebox lol

2. Very rusty,i'm actually concerned by it, the sump will need replacing soon and after changing the oil last weekend it looks as if i need to remove the exhaust, but will have a good look this weekend. The rust seems a bit excessive! But aren't Fiat/Alfa known for that.


As people have said on here, you get what you paid for. I LOVE the looks, the ride is good (in my opinion), the best car its catergory!

It just has that little special something that i can't put my finger on.

Tested the new 500 1.4 sport not last weekend but the weekend and before and WOW,what a car.

Still prefer my punto though!

1)the sun visor is too small and narrow so doenst block any sun light out.its not big enough.

2)indicator stalk not stayin on properly when going round roundabouts hehe.

then the fact they just make different noises every just from different locations of car when they feel like it no matter how much you keep on top off resolving them?

yours is just broken. it should slide forward with the lever pulled up.

6: yup, yours is broke... erm is mine broke as well? cos the passenger seat slides, but the drivers seat doesnt

7: wtf is the draw under the passenger seat? hmmm.... maybe for stashing weed/firearms even though i have never seen one... maybe ELX-specific.

Yes I believe its an ELX thing IIRC. And knowing the italians it would be used to storing condoms and lube
