(T) Mk1 Sporting steering wheel onto a 55SX?

I've been offered an airbagged steering wheel from a Sporting, which looks much nicer than the cheap nasty standard one in my SX. Is it a straight swap? And does anyone know how to remove and get shot of the airbag without it exploding?!

how much? and i dont really like the sporting ones, i like the gt one because its got black leather round the outside of it, it should be a straight swap, i think my haynes punto manual (max power modding one btw)shows how to take all the airbag out, do you want me to scan it for you?

It's twelve quid plus P&P, I agree its not quite as nice as the GT one but still a lot better than mine!

also i forgot to say its the max power haynes modding punto manual not the normal haynes one, but it still might have it in there? but £12 is quite cheap, i payed £40 for my gt one and then saw one other day go for £16 lol not happy.

I'm even less happy, I was going to bid on that £16 one (I think it was you who pointed it out in the 1st place!) but forgot!

Just looked in my Haynes and it doesn't say anything about the airbag ones, if you could scan that Max Power one then that'd be great

yeah it was, i knew you hated your steering wheel and i know you also said some where you like the sporting/gt one so i showed you, i really did think you was the highest bidder lol, if not id of bought it (why an earth would i need another one? lol) and be right back, my scanners dodgy so might take a little while to scan.

dont you just love computers? it just wont work, every time i try to connect my scanner to my computer it crashes, im gonna keep trying though.

most haynes manuals say leave airbag removal to the pros, just leave it in, if you blow it up it usally rips the front off the wheel.
all cars that are stacked at brakers are supposed to have air bags activated as part of the de-tox rules, a cage over the wheel is used.

well in my haynes max power modding book, it shows how to take the airbag out.
