Gear Knob???

I am in need of help lol, i want a new gear knob but when i find them thy say, not for lift reverse etc, will this affect me in my 95 punto 5 dr wereas i have to push the gear stick down to reverse and not lift. cheers guys

In a word, No...

The whole shaft pushes down so you can fit any knob...

remove gaiter... move into 4th... grip with both hands... pull hard... not coming off, pull harder...

I found if you squat between the seats with a foot in each of the 2 footwells its easier, it may also be worth putting a cushion on your head cos when it does come off u may go flying back/up

the gaitor being the rubber cover?? how do i get tht off as its attached under the gear surround

if u unscrew the surround, u should be able to unclip the tabs holding it in at the bottom, or unclip the retaining ring at the knob end...

hmmmmmmm, the gaitor is in fact part of the gear knob its not just attached but the rubber of the gaitor is the gear knob also, looks like im goin to have to buy a new gaitor aswell as gear knob then??

Most likely yeah... if you cut around the gaiter near the knob, (circumcise it ) then pull the end off...

I don't know how much a gaiter wold cost, but if you get one from a breakers it should be ok.

Go to a breakers yard (scrappy) and you can get a gaiter from an SX which will fit on your punto, get the Leather-look gaiter and the plastic surround, if it is different, so you can use it in your car

Just ordered my self a leather gaitor off DCP and a combat style gear knob off ebay. pretty happy now lol
