hello everybody

my dashboard backlight went off . I checked the fuse box and found that the fuse of right ( passenger side ) headlight is blown I changed it and the dashboard light came on again so I discovered that it have the same wiring with the right headlight .

after a while it blew again . I changed it with a higher amp fuse but smoke arise so I removed it instantly .

my question is can I make the light of the dashboard irrelevant from the headlight ? I want to bypass this problem all I need is the backlight

thank you so much

I think the Sidelights and the dashboard lights are on the same fuse. I had the same problem on mine not so long ago.the sidelights and my lights both went out and i replaced the fuse and they were working again. however after it got worse and it started blowing the services fuse I started looking to find the problem. it turned out in the end that the the problem was with my Rear Foglight. water had got into it and rusted up the foglight bulb, bulb holder and was shorting it out.that in turn was blowing the fuse for my indicators, brake lights, speedo, fuel guage e.t.c. i think the sidelight, dash light fuse after blowing was in turn blowing my services fuse So If I were you I would check your rear light clusters for any problems:)they only take 2 min to remove.and of course check its not your headlights causing the problem.

Just dont ignore the problem or try to seperate those fuses. they are blowing for a reason and even if you seperate the lights from the dashlight bulbs the problem will still be there. and as someone told me when i was having troubles with mine, the last thing you need is that short causing a bigger problem..or even a fire.
