June 1998 chassis no. ZFA17600001062466 Fiat Punto gt
Overheating vapours coming out of engine compartment I filled the container with 1.5 liters of water (one big water bottle) I checked later and container was empty today I filled it again with same quantity of water I started the engine and let it idle for quite a while no water was lost can it be the ventilator does not function how long do I have to wait until ventilator starts or at which temperature
Is there a fuse I can check ?

You'll need to check that the fan actually works (I'd guess by bridging the terminals to the thermo switch for the fan.

Most cooling systems need to be bled.

I think I diagnosed the problem with the help of my father the cap of the water container has deteriorated and the spring is on the bottom of the tank my father gave me an old cap from his fiat coupe turbo plus I will try it tomorrow

The GT doesn't have any bleed screws... take the cap off (when the car it not hot!!!!) and then run the car upto temp and replace the cap.

Actually saying that, I have seen some GT's that do have a radiator bleed screw and others that don't so have a look, but there is no heater upper bleed screw on them.
