Hi everyone

I noticed a new problem that suddenly happened while I am driving

Everything was ok and suddenly when i am moving from 1st to 2nd gear I noticed the rpm can't go beyond 2 ( 2000 rpm ) if I keep pressing on accelerate pedal the car start to jerk , I move to the 3rd gear and also came to the 2000 rpm and start this

What is that problem related to ?!

Thank you so much

had this problem myself for over a year, as have many other people, eventually fixed mine with a combination of replacing:
- Fuel filter
- Lambda/oygen sensor
- ignition coil pack

none of these are very expensive from parts places (eurocarparts for me), or you could try a scrapyeard.

Thank you kazer92 I will try to change the fuel filter

Fingers99 what do you mean by EML is on ??

The little symbol that FIAT use to indicate that the ECU has picked up a fault.

I think on the Mk1 it looks like a shower head/injector/spark plug. On some cars it's an engine.

Problem is that on the Mk1 only obsolete FIAT diagnostic equipment (or ECU Scan 2, which is free, but you need the cables and a laptop) such as Examiner can read it.

Thank you so much for you help fingers99

The injector indicator is on and never go away this is since I bought the car

How can I read the fault of ecu ? I tried some one method ( blink test ) but the injector indicator never blink

If it's a 1.1 or a 1.2, then you can't do a blink test. You need either FIAT Examiner (which is dealer only stuff) or IAW Scan 2 from here -- it's free, but you'll need cables and a laptop running a recent version of Windows.

The light staying on just means that the ECU has picked up an out of bounds reading from something -- can be a sensor fault or another issue.

It's very unlikely to be the ECU itself on the 55 and 60 -- the ECUs are incredibly robust.

Hello everyone,
I have changed the fuel filter and coil pack with HT leads

And ordered a fiat mk1 3pin to obd2 cable to scan the ecu

But a new problem happened to me and scared me alot as i go to my work very late an it is more than 30 km from home

The rpm gauge suddenly dropped to 0.5 ( 500 ) and no response at all to the accelelerator pedal

I turned the ignition off and on again started the engine and the car started normally without any problems ??? This strange behaviour scar me alot as it may not be fixed and stay in this far area !!

do you actually have the engine management light on when the car is running, or when its not running right??

not the engine light it is the injector light and it seems that this replace the engine management light

I am waiting for the diagnostic cable to test the ecu

but I am wondering if this is problem ahs a known cause

that is the engine management light yes, fiat in their wisdom decided some of their cars should use a different symbol to everyone else

Anyhow, that means there will be a code stored if the light is intermittent and an active code if its staying on all the time, should be a good indication of what is wrong.
