Condition started when it was normally run but with some detonations with 2nd gear
I swapped the coils and the car became great for 2 days

Just yesterday and when i am trying to start my car it showed no response at all , the engine crank and the starter motor move but no thing happened

I hear the fuel pump sound when i turn the ignition on

Tried to inspect the coils but the is no spark at all come from them

I did everything i found in this forum

  • Changed the coils
  • Changed the map, crank , tps sensors

    New starter moror !

    Fuses seems to be ok

The main relay (white thing) was clicking but when i removed the cover it seems that it is good no visible burnout or carbons etc,,

Spark plugs and its wires were changed one month ago

The starter motor work but no spark engine is dead all this happened all of a sudden

Could it be ecu ?

Please help me.

Thank youso much for your reply

The crank sensor is new also the previous one was 2 months old but i changed it as i suspected it may the cause

There is no spark at all How to check for fuel past injectors

But i a. Sure that there is no electricity going to coils

May it be no electricity to crank sensor ?

Could be that the main relay (white box, about the size of 2 relays in the engine compartment) is goosed.

Fuel to the injector? Assuming Mk1 p60, P55, remove the air cleaner housing so you can peer down the throttle body. Get someone else to crank the engine. You should see fuel dribbling onto the throttle butterfly when cranked.

Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it so much

I took off the white relay removed its white cover to inspect it and i feel that everything is good no signs of burns or carbons. How can i test this relay ?

There is fuel come to throttle body and when i removed one of spark plugs i found little fuel on it

I think fuel past the injectors shows that the TDC sensor is fine, and probably the main relay.

12v + and - to the low tension connectors on the coils when cranked?

Sorry may you please explain more how to do this

Get a multimeter, set it to 20v DC.

Pull off the little connector on top of one of the coil packs, put + (red lead) to one of the sockets on the connector, - (black lead) to the other and get someone to crank the engine. Report back.

Next question -- do you have a wiring diagram?

I did that and no change occurred in voltage it is 0

I don't have a wiring diagram . where can I get this ?

Could it be immobiliser ?
I have read some topics talking about that

What happens when there is an immobiliser fault (no starter motor at all or starter may work and engine turn over in this case ?

the cam belt is in good condition , and turn with the starter motor

how to know that it is not jumped ?

8v is easy peasy -- the guides will have the diagrams.

16v you need the timing tools.

I've never found a Mk1 Punto wiring diagram on the net. But if 8v, it should be similar to the Cinq: Polish and Italian manuals on all the Peer 2 Peer networks, but probably easier and quicker to just buy a Haynes manual.

code/key light usually stays lit if immobiliser is stuck on. is the earth on gearbox and rear of engine good?

Yes the earth is good. If immobiliser is bad can starter move and turn the engine?
And how to manage this

I remembered something

The day before all this i threw the key from the second floor to my brother to move the car away to make some space to someone else

The key dropped on the ground he picked it and started the car normally then parked it
The next day i used my key ( not the thrown one ) and never started. Also this is happening now with the thrown key

Is that may be a cause !!? Dont know just something came to my mind

I am afraid with car starting problems you need to go back to basics again and again. Check if you have SPARC at all. Then check if the plugs are dry. A clear answer to above should point to the problem.
