(T) How-to-fit VW Golf wipers on a mk2/2.5

If youve got a few spare hours on ya hands have a go at sticking some Golf wipers on ya car! It aint a piece of pi** but looks good and works better, heres how I did it:

First I got a set of wipers from a car in a scrap yard (also got a spare set for my punto whilst I was there)

The VW wipers are put together quite well, you need to take the ends off only, I got a screwdriver and hammered my way down the join on the underside of the VW wipers. They should then slide out, they are not welded.

Then after placing the VW wipers on the screen is the desired position I marked off on my spare set of Punto wipers where they come up to. I cut the end bits of the Punto wipers off (leaving an inch or 2 for the VW end to grip on).

I then flattened the end of the VW ends so they would grip the punto arms which I forced in (I also did a spot of welding on the back to make sure it was solid). Then prepped and sprayed the whole lot in matt black.

Sorted.

Why would i want vw wipers on my punto? (thats if i owned a punto.)

I think they are much cooler. My wipers were also giving me grief at high speeds. They kept juddering all the time! The VW ones are a much better design and work a treat!

My old wipers juddered at high speeds but I solved it by buying Bosch spoiler wipers 18S Passenger, 22S driver.

I would have done it on my Punto if I still had it. They look much better and like you say at higher speeds the standard wipers are really crap, due to lack of spoiler. I want some on my car now!
