As above. My clutch is making that awful clicky noise about 3/4 of the way down on pedal push and accordign to the threads on here it means my clutch is on its way out.
My car is a Mk1 punto 60s 8 valve 1.2

Is this the correct set and will I be able too take it to a garage and have them fit it for me??I was told that most garages wont allow you to take your own parts for some reason. And I dont have anywhere I could even really attempt to take a gearbox out and havn't a clue where to start.lol
If you do know of a garage in the Bolton area that will let me supply the kit please post details here:)

Thanks in advance guys:)

I'd not take it to a garage. Garages don't do many clutches a week, your back street clutch jockets will do 5 a day, every day. So tend to be quicker/cheaper.

See the bit on the ad where it says
THIS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED WITH YOUR 17 DIGIT CHASSI NUMBER BEFORE PURCHASE
?

A decent local factor will also want the VIN so they can be sure of getting the right clutch. They'll also be able to tell you of local clutch fitters.

how much do back street guys charge to change it if you perhaps know?

also mk1 clutch fits mk2 and other way around

Got quotes from 2 garages for replacing the clutch and me supplying the parts and they quoted 120 in 1 and 130 in another. Is that a reasonable price for doing it??
I assume it is if others are getting quotes aroud the same price:)
But I went back to the website I was gonna get the kit from and now they are sold out:( So I guess will have to wait for em to get more stock in or check some other places:)

Strange though because sometimes there is no clicking noise at all as i depress the clutch and then other times its every single time.lol

now the real question is if you got insurance in case car breaks down so they tow you to your desired place for free if you got that, change clutch when it actually stops working, if you dont have that then changing the clutch now while car is still driveable is gonna be cheaper at the end, dunno how much they charge to tow the car tho

Change it before, leaving it to fail could be potentially deadly if it fails in the middle of a roundabout or on a dualcarrageway.

I have breakdown cover anyways:) But yes thats the plan too fix it before it goes....and besides if it fails whilst in use it could cause more problems.lol

the reason I was gonna get my own Clutch kit is cos I found some online for like 30-40 quid brand new and it seems to me that most garages always use genuine fiat dealers for their parts which are always alot more more expensive.lol
