I'm looking for a part for my 1.6 cabrio. I haven't found it anywhere in my country or at ebay.

Only Rob from Puntospares seem to have it but he won't post to my place



I believe I can find some kind of hose in my country but not the plastic that holds it.
Is silicone or rubber pipe would be also ok? does the alternator sucks air from it's hole like a vacuum pipe?

Looking for someone in UK that would be kind to help me with the shipping/forwarding the item to me. of course I'd pay whatever it needs. would understand if not to :hug:

Otherwise, one of the Punto Mk1 guys may have a better idea. :slayer:

If you haven't got anywhere in a few days, PM me with your address (and get a weight for the parcel from Rob (who's usually very helpful -- but I do understand his reluctance to ship abroad...)) -- and I'll find out how much it would cost to send to you from the UK.

Its purpose is to draw air down to the alternator to keep it cool yes - not something that is really required over here in the UK but i'm guessing It maybe required in Israel, quite a bit hotter there.

Unless you are bothered about having it look genuine any pipe about the same size held in place with cable-ties will do the job just fine.

There is normally at least a few GT's being broken for parts on the UK ebay so you could try messaging the sellers to see if they have the plastic parts.

I never refitted this piece to mine so will have a look and make sure it's not broken or anything.

there was nothing wrong with the plastic bit on Molly when i had it, i just took the pipe out cause it was in about 4 pieces and rattled about. Spent ages trying to find the correct replacement pipe as well but in end never got around to buying it

I guess I could fit any hose or silicone hose but I'm missing the plastic bit.
Does this alternator has a fan? so the hose works like a vacuum pipe?

By looking at other engine bays, plastic looks completely closed (or is it just me?):



On the item he's sending me, it looks half. my mind is saying it should be half open in order to suck air.

no the blades on the alternator itself cause the low pressure and thus air is drawn down the pipe. And no the plastic bit does not have a closed end, it open underneath where you can't see in any of the pics.
