| Punto 1.4 ECM Replacement cost First post so hello there! Just took my girlfriends Punto (W reg) in as the Injection light kept coming on and the car was running sluggish. I had the work done and it came to £750! Ouch The main cost of this was an ECM for £382 and an Injector for £97, (£170 labour). They did the work without telling me the cost would be so much. Do these prices sound right to people? Just want to get my facts right before I go and question it! Any help would be great, cheers Nick

| Re: Punto 1.4 ECM Replacement cost If they don't get your agreement to spend the money, you are not obliged to pay a penny. What you will have to do though, to release the car, is give them a cheque and write 'paid under duress' on the back. You can then recouperate the costs in the smalls claims court. They would argue you needed it doing, but you could counter suggesting had you known the cost you would have got alternative quotes from non-Fiat dealers. If you tell them you are not happy about the costs, if they are decent they might knock some off to make the pain easier to take. Good luck p.s. The Punto won't be a 1.4, it will likely be the 1.2
