Hi all,

My car is a 1997 Fiat Punto 1.2 75 SX. I have this this issue with my battery; the charge is leaking some where somehow. I have an exide battery which has an indicator that shows green if its fully charged or changes to black if it needs recharging. I bought this car used and the battery was installed before that. But it has warranty left. At the start of this winter in December 2013, I saw this black light turned on indicating the need for recharge. I took the battery to the local exide shop and they did the recharge for 8 Euros. The technician told me that the battery is leaking somehow. It can be because I don't drive much (some 10-12kms daily only) or something else. Last week when I checked the battery status it was showing the black light. Again I took it to the shop and they recharged and told me the same thing. According to them, the battery is fine.

The car had the motor inspection done in February 2014. The inspection agent told me that my rear left fog light was not working and that I need to go to a workshop and get it checked. The workshop guy opened the rear tail lamp and found that the rear left fog lamp bulb is fine, but somehow no electricity to light it.

My question is if this fog lamp issue is in someway related to the battery leak? or is there something else? Could the experts shed any light on it? Any help would be highly appreciated. By the way I am from Finland.

Thanking you in advance for your time and replies.

Get a fuse current tester / fuse buddy from eBay. You plug it into where the fuse goes and it shows you where the drain is.
