I'd also check your injectors. Loose/worn cables, buildup on the injector head obvious signs of damage. People always recommend using an additive into your fuel tank to clear fuel line blockage problems, can get sommit from Halfords apparently costs ~£5 and clears out your fuel lines.

| Banned | Re: fiat punto van not starting fuel? the only info I have is for a Punto car but: from the haynes manual: - disconnect battery negative terminal - remove air cleaner assembly (take off air filter if it's in the way) - depressurise fuel line (there's a whole section on this, but basically on the right hand side of the fuel rail there should be a valve, use a rag to cover it and release the valve to relieve the pressure be careful as there will still be fuel present in the line dont blow yourself up with cigarettes) - disconnect the fuel supply pipe at the quick-release connector in the centre of the fuel rail - disconnect the wiring connectors at the fuel injectors. Release the injector wiring harness from the retaining clips on the fuel rail and move the harness to one side - unscrew two bolts securing the fuel rail assembly to the inlet manifold then carefully remove the injectors from their manifold locations. Remove the assembly from the engine and remove the injector lower o-ring seals. - the injectors can be removed individually from the fuel rail by extracting the relevant metal clip and easing the injector out of the rail. Remove the injector upper o-ring seals. You can then visibly inspect them, they should be bright and clean this is a sign of fuel going through not dull or blocked with dirt or debris. If they're seemingly knackered, you can just put in a replacement injector from a scrappie. You can also do a multimeter check to see if the resistance across the injector matches its specifications (which is useless to you unless you know the spec doesnt appear to be in haynes but I'll keep my eye open for it, probably isnt right for your injectors anyway) Check your plugs and wiring on each injector. It's not as complicated as it seems, the rail basically comes off and then you can whip them out and inspect them. When I had this problem before, it turned out to be the electrical plug on the fuel pump, the car would fire initially then cut out inexplicably. If it was one of your injectors you'd likely find that if the car would run (if at all) albeit not smoothly. Examine your lines for leakage, if you ran empty you may have burnt out the pump. I dont know much specifically about fiats, so I cant really help you with the location of things. Though the pump is generally located close to the tank at the rear to mid section of the vehicle.
