Technical Gear box is now finally dying

Okay sweeeet! I've found a mk2 1.2 8v gearbox with the clutch and flywheel on 68k, 5miles from me so I'm gonna have a look at that today. Do I need anything else for the swap?

..... some patience lol. If you don't stick a new clutch in do at least put a new thrust bearing in and inspect the pressure plate forks for wear. I must say a clutch kit is not expensive though, does make sense to put new one in.

Once done at least check gearbox oil level, I would for the sake of a few quid just drain and fill with fresh myself

I've got the new oil already?? I'm gonna do a self service once it's on anyway. I have noticed that the clutch kit is pretty cheap tbh but would I need to match the clutch kit to the mk2 gearbox I'm fitting? Or the mk1 to go with the engine?

AFAIK Mk 2 box will fit Mk 1 but not other way around as the bracket holes are not on the earlier box, did you get a Mk 1 box by any chance?
