I have no end of problems with my V reg punto. The warranty is almost up with in the next few days, and now one problem im haveing which is scaring the sh*t out of me, is when driving along (at various speeds)
a sound comes from the front that sound like a 'POP' at the same time the car jotls as if i have stomped on the brake pedal.

As usual, Platts, a fiat dealership are unable to find the problem!!
Help needed ASAP

Make sure they have logged the fact that you bought the fault to them before the warranty ran out, they could easily be waiting until you have to pay.

The only reason I can think is the Lambda sensor is faulty, mixing the fuel/air too rich which is causing a bacfire. This is purely supposition.
Have you thought about taking it to another Fiat garage and NOT telling them about the warranty?

Thanks for that. Had nothing but arguments for the last few days. Asked them for a letter so that if it was the problem continued they would pay the cost..only problem is they dont know what the problem is!! Fu**ing typical.

Would a fautly lambada sensor not show up on the ecu when connected to there systems?

Gonna take it to a garage were near where I work..see what they say!

The problem with sensors is they are only faulty if the ECU is told the sensor is playing up. In some circumstances sensors can become faulty but still respond correctly to the ECU.
