Hiya, hoping somebody can help me...................My punto has been running fine,but mot was due,i noticed the rear light was cracked and so went and bought a complete unit from the scrappers,just unpluuging the old unit and plugging in the new one to fit.

Went to start the car............nothing,turned over fine but would not fire.Removed the plug leads,no spark,went back to the scrappers and bought new coils which were definately working and fitted,no spark.

Battery died,connected jump leads and tried again,however,this time i noticed that the key code light on the dash does not light up when the ignition is on,in fact the only lights showing on the dash are the battery warning light and the oil warning light.

Is any of this connected?

I do not have the red key....................

Thanks Dave....Are the only fuses to the right of the steering wheel beneath a panel secured by two screws?

Have you come across the code warning light not showing before?

Plenty of spark and car running well again..............15a services fuse....could have saved myself 20 quid on coils if id asked first....bad mechanic Thanks again to dave and the site
