Hi All

I've had to take my beloved black Punto Mk1 60s off the road as it's now uneconomic to MOT it again, and the clutch needs doing too blah blah, rack needs replacing.....

It's been good, and I've had it forever, clocking less that 70k which isn't bad going.

It's got pretty new rear trailing arms kit, lots of good bits and a decent engine, body parts etc.

I don't know if I should attempt to break it myself or how much I'd get for it in one lump. I've had some interest from someone that saw it and wants if for body parts, but I haven't contacted them to discuss a price because I wanted to get some opinions on what I could get for it. I'm not sure I have time to break it myself TBH.

Any experiences, example prices (or offers, LOL) ?

Thanks

Rob

If you do break it i'd pay £10-£15 for the clutch hose if it's in good working order.
20cm hose from clutch slave cylinder to metal pipes on bulkhead.

Noted. At the moment, I'm looking to shift the whole thing to someone that fancies breaking it. I have some interest, but nothing firm yet.

I'm seeing £250 - £350 for the whole thing. Does that seem reasonable to those of you guys in the know? You'd pay £150 odd for the engine and gearbox, not to mention the profit in breaking the car on Ebay etc.

Cuurent Scrap value for a small car is only around £80.00. Anyone with any sense wouldn't give you any more than that. You are going to be braking and selling bits along time for the demand is not that high due to there being so few on the road. Why did it fail it's test I might want to put in back on the road. You got any pictures

this thread is over 5 years old, I think the OP has come to a decision by now and the punto is now baked beans cans or similar ;)
