I bought and fitted a mk2 punto sporting into a mk1, I’m having trouble with the bottom pulley the first pic shows the pulley from the mk1 that I need to use as it runs both power steering and alternator belts but with this pulley the pickup sits in the wrong place,

The second pic shows the mk2 pulley which puts the pickup in the correct location, but can only run one belt.

The third pic shows both pulley side by side one on the left is from the MK1

Has anyone managed to do this conversion before, how is it done was thinking of just relocating the crank pickup, is there an easier way?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies, the oil pump on this engine is bigger, the sump bolts to it (i attached pic of it), the one I've got for the mk1 won't fit this engine because of the sump.

would it be easier to move the crank sensor closer to the block as the pulleys look the same diameter or fitting a mk2 electric power streering pump and ecu.

thanks

What does a Bravo/a crank pulley or oil pump look like?

They ran a traditional hydraulic PAS pump and alternator set-up like a mk1 Punto, and are the later 16v block with the alloy crank cradle.

its in the first picture fitted to the crank looks like it would work if the crank sensor is moved right slightly, i rested the sensor on top of the pulley and the gap between the pulley and sensor looks the same the teeth on the pulleys match with the blank bit in the same location,

its the one on the the left in the third pic

thanks for looking, I'm gonna look/measure up if moving the crank sensor to the right is possible when i get back from work tomorrow, didn't realise they were different till the engine was in the car i just replaced all bottom end seals to, fingers crossed it will work

You're forgetting the other part of my question-

What does a Bravo/a crank pulley or oil pump look like?

As it happens, we had one in today- block/lower crank cradle the same as the block you have and the RPM sensor mount is mounted in-board like the mk1 Punto.

Fit a Bravo/a 1.2 16v oil pump and you won't need to fabricate anything. ;)

thanks for the reply, the bravo engine did that have the crank casing that bolts to the block, what year of car will I have to ask for,

I got a couple more pics of it

all the gaps look the same, just needs to be a touch to the right
