| Re: ermmm looks like it does the same as the resistor chips by telling the engine its got cold air when it hasn't. is nicely described though without telling you that it will kill your engine because the chip tellsit its got cold air when its not, plus if its giving an even richer air/fuel mix it means even more less MPG. which nobody wants.

| Re: ermmm Adapting the oxygen sensor is a way of producing more power if as the description says it can signal a weak mixture. Unfortunately most modern ecus have a limit as to how much it can richen the mixture before it flags up an EOBD error and defaults to a default map, so you get the warning light on and less power! If you look at the power graphs you will see that they are full power graphs (wide open throttle) unfortunately this is exactly the time when the ecu ignores the oxygen sensor so no improvement would be felt. The time you would feel a slight improvement would be accelerating on light throttle and the time you would feel a big disadvantage is the engine would be running lumpily on idle as the engine was running richer than normal. I prefer a red stripe down the side of the car as this has exactly the same effect.

| Re: ermmm you see the problem with resistors on the intake air temp is the ecu finds it's way back to normal in a few seconds using the 02 sensor as a guide so these idiots had to come up with something that the ecu has no control over it's last and final resort to measuring mixture there for after fitting these baby's you now have a real danger of seriously breaking your engine with bore washing as someone has so very well put above it wont give you any great gain anyway althou we could buy them and sell them for twice the price to our local chavs and there saxos they all deserve to blow up

| I inadvertedly came across ...??! It's a "supercharger" that is apparently powered by neither the engine, the exhaust or the car's electricity. Since the only thing it must therefore do is spin a bit when air is sucked through it into the engine I mailed the seller asking exactly how it worked. I got this in response:
or am I being thick and this actually, magically works? I suppose it might help fuel efficiency if the ECU matched the fuel supply to the dramatically reduced air intake...

| Burninator of threads! | Re: The non-powered supercharger yes its just that, a fan that slows down/chops up any intake. TBH the intake of an engine isn't laminar anyway, its turbulant as the air sort of vibrates DOWN into the TB, not really smooth atall, so doubt the fan will even spin. I'd love to see how many ppl have bought these off ebay ![]()

| Dislikeskeyboardwarriors | Re: The non-powered supercharger the theory behind it shows it should work to smoothen out the flow of air, but as said it will slow it down, same scenario, you know when you empty a 500ml bottle of coke and it glugs as it flows out, spin the bottle as its flowing and it will flow out with out glugging, hence being smoother.... but it take longer for the coke to flow out, so total crap tbh... :P might as well get ripspeed sunstrip at the same time... extra weight will help slow it down

| Burninator of threads! | Re: The non-powered supercharger yes I see where your coming from, but for any device to try and 'add' swirl to your intake, the rotar blade would have to be stationary. and instead of a blade in teh middle, it needs the outside edges of the pipe to be swirled for quite some distance at teh correct pitch/angle which would then be compeltly wasted by the time its gone thru the TB/ air flow metere

| Re: The non-powered supercharger to be honest the only way this would ever even remotley work is int he same terms as the barrel of a Weopen is rifled. but the research into getting the effect correct would be hard. plus in all fairness the ends wouldnt justify the means. loads of ********. geta GSR
