Help! No reverse lights!

Hi there

Just got me a Punto... and have found that I have no reverse lights - I have checked the bulbs and they are fine - just swapped them with the brake bulbs. Checked all the fuses and they are fine.... was then thinking that it might be some switch on the gearshift - so I lifted that and cant see any switch - there seems to be a cable running up into the back of somewhere that gets pulled when you put it into reverse so dont know if this activates a switch. I have the Haynes repair manual but cant find anything relevant in this... Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried using a multimeter to see if any juice is getting there at all? Why do you need a reversing light? Just turn the car around and drive the other way! Sorry!

i dont know what punto you have but if its a mk2 then goto chapter 7 part A number 7 reversing switch testing,removal and reffitiing.

if its mk1 manual than should be in the manual transmision section of the manual
