Angry Mk2 Sunroof in carwash

On Saturday I took my Punto to the local carwash since it was filthy due to the mud on the lanes I use. Since my ariel doesn't want to come off, I make sure it's bent down before going in. So, because I was feeling lazy, I went to open the sunroof. It wouldn't open. It would go up, but not back. So any ideas on what might be wrong?

Looked in the Haynes manual and they talk about how to close it in an emergency - although I know from past experience pretty much all the tools are misisng from the boot (twas an ex rental car, so I guess some twonk 'ad 'em). The manual says for anything else, go to the dealer, since they might need to remove the roof! I might try to see if I can open it "by hand", although it would be awful if I couldn't then close it! Glad to say I don't need it open over the winter (although I sometimes have it up for some fresh air in the cooler months). I tend to use the sunroof a fair bit in the summer, alternating between open and up depending on speed, so it has seen plently of use...

I've only recently started using the carwash, and have noticed a few drops coming in via the sunroof when it's on the blow-dry phase. Could that have buggered it up? I was never a fan, but moving to a place with no outside tap or drive means it's hrad to clean any other way. Also, the car wash this last time has seemed to have missed doing the very bottom of the car, despite going for a "gold" service which supposedly even washes the underbody? Do they have a mud sensor? It was very mucky, and so perhaps the carwash though it was a 4x4, and neglected to clean down that far? I hope the already spotless Jag that was going through after me (why, I don't know!) got some of my mud!

Bucket of warm soapy water and a sponge?

Seriously though, your best bet is to have it checked at a garage.

I know the feeling about not having anywhere to wash the car properly....believe me, going up and down two flights of stairs just to refill the bucket is rubbish!!!
