(G) 2000 sluggish hesitant is drinking to much petrol

hiyas 2000 1242 cc 5 door ,power steering ,petrol ,city parking,elec windows etc .soon as drove it it is so sluggish and hesitant and slightly judders ,drives like its holding back struggles to go up hills etc and iv noticed excessive petrol the tank just goes down twice normal rate ,my older 1999 punto 1242 was a dream was so fast and economical whats the story with this 2000 one can anyone help please ???

When were sparks and leads last changed?

getting a bit of an overhaul moro new sparks ,oil change ,air filter and new timing belt put on as i bought it from a dealer who is shifty i dont know much about the car my break light also comes on especially when turning corners or sometimes just randomly goes off again though my handbrake would not be on and brake fluid level is full dealer says ur warrenty does not cover tyres or anything to do with brakes ah well lol

See what it's like after tomorrow.

Assuming oil change, leads, sparks you can look at lambda sensor and coils next.

got the new air filter ,fuel filter ,new sparks and new timing belt and still no change, mechanic is dumbfounded now as loss of power is still there ,still slow as anything not much revs or something he checked the timing belt spot on with the mark that was on it yet when he checked same model on computer seems it was a different check mark ,,,anyhow going back moro so he can reset timing so correlates with computor

just an update for anyone reading with similar issue the timing belt marks were out by two teeth now its rectified and it drives like a dream happy days
