Turtle wax is cheap and crap IMO. I have a bilt hamber clay bar - very good. To clean my car I use meguiars soft pink wash (cant remember exact name but it helps with waxing etc), I then use the washing and drying as per this guide http://www.fiatforum.com/car-care/18...-your-car.html dodo juice time to dry is v good and i recommend a large drying towel, so much quicker than lathering!! Then i use autoglym super resin polish, nice and easy to apply and take off with good results, and top it off with collinite 915 - great stuff! It put a nice deep shine into my paintwork and it only needs applying once every 3 months. Spent 3 hours cleaning today, which yes is probably quite sad as it started raining afterwards but the water beaded off very well annoying as well when i can see scratches and paint chips, i want a machine polisher! paintwork is in good condition for a 9 year old car though !I just cannot stress the importance of using good quality products, as I have found out! Sorry for the essay! ![]() Cheers buddy, just chopped it together in a few minutes was taken outside my Dad's warehouse, makes for quite a nice background!I am going to have a go at spraying my wing mirrors again tomorrow, me thinks, any tips?

Well firstly i made a mistake of using halfords colour code paint, crap match so wont be doing that in the future. Its just that the finish isnt as smooth as i like. the reflection is distortioned if you no what i mean, quite different from the finish on the car. I know i wont be able to match it, need professional jobby for that but i wont as close as i can get!

yes turtlewax is the 'cheap end' with not so good outcomes. It wont protect as well and the finish may not be as goodWell lets see, i have two draws full of car cleaning stuff probably spent well over £100 on bits and peices ![]() The collinite stuff was £25 with 2 applicators and 3 microfibres. These are also very important for application and finishing/ polishing it off - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260394848314 Dodo juice £6.95 - helps drying - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260363307161 bilt hamber clay bar £10.95 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=250403973152 removes tar etc Meguiars car wash around £10 and autoglym SRP around £10 but i get deals at my local motorist store ![]() For me i have found that that has worked out well, you may want to try other products, but im not spending any more money on car cleaning!! ![]() www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ Edit: check out the pics of my car for the shine i got! http://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/sho...y.php?cat=2247Also you will need some good back to black and tyre shine. Autoglym bumper care and Autoglym instant tyre dressing has worked well for me. You just have to work in the back to black well. Last edited by sdb-punto; 17-06-2009 at 23:09.
