personally i think you've done that much to it it would be a shame to get rid after such a short time, a lot of people would rather have your mk1 than a mk2 cos it looks mint

thats a good point. id keep it and drive it till its died.and thatl get your insurance down.gotta think about your insurance if you get a new car and no dout youl want a bigger engine. after all, you have put a lot of work in it and money. be proud to keep and drive it mate

My bonnet is worse for wear, the colour has gone off slightly and it's not, how can I explain it, it's not lacquered. I was wondering opinions on an anthracite bonnet? If it was done at a shop? I might p/shop it tomorrow to see how it would look

TBH mate for the amount its going to cost for a respray dependent on where it needs doing it will not be worth it just drive it about for 1 year then get shut its very rare to find a mk1 in very good nick now specially on the paintwork mines the same all down one side the lacquer has all gone

I polish it and you can see the paint on the buffer

Think ill just keep mine on the road for 1 year then get shut of it for a mk2

you will never get a good enough finish on a bonnet with a rattle can job

you should get away with doing your skirts yourself. Are you coming to the next nin? I fancy having a look to see if your paintwork is as bad as your making out!
