reminds me of a friend years ago who put a garage airline into the airfilter chamber on his FS1e, held the throttle back to the stop, pressed the air line button, to see how high it would rev, it went rev, rev , scream, CLUNK, silence......... conrod gave way under the small end and made a hole in the crankcase......... dont think he ever did it again..............

have seen these super chargers in maxpower been put to the test and even they said there S***t the test came out with a befor and after it was put on a rolling road there was no diference in power ect.ban this guy from ebay hes a con

heh guy am new here, just bought a w reg punto hgt 52k on the clock, and am discusted at the mpg (18-26) i hav a m8 in a golf vr6 (2.8 v6 to those who might not know that) and hes on par with me to the mpg. how is this posible??? is true its a prefect running machine? sounds ok... just sore on my pocket..very.

any1 confirm things 4 me?

I have always wondered if it would be possible to make a constant-pressure electric intake compressor. It seems that the weakness of both turbochargers and superchargers is that your engine has to be turning quickly already to get the effect. A constant-pressure turbo should give extra grunt for pulling away and better driveability.

I have not seen an example of this being well executed yet though. Just a pipedream for now.

-MikeSalt, a constant-rpm electric supercharger would loose boost as the revs got higher, which might be great in some ways but not in others

a positive displacement supercharger keeps the airflow-to-rpm ratio constant, meaning that you are always on boost, from idle to the rev limiter. Therefore, you have the bottom end grunt AND the top end power, even if the top end is sapped a little by the supercharger itself.
