(G) Problems starting my Mk1 Punto 60s

When i bought the car back in July it was fine, not over the past 2-3weeks every now an then i have trouble starting her, ive changed the plugs an H/T leads, an given her a new battery but the problem is still there. She'll start fine for a few days then, BAM nothing, e.g saturday i moved her 20ft to another parking bay, 5mins later, went to go 2 the shop and nothing, wouldn't budge, shes turning over fast just not kicking, what can i do?

its most probably the crank sensor, especially if it only happens on a warm start and not on a cold start. easy way to check, next time it wont start see if the plugs are sparking, if they are not then the crank sensor is by far the most likely reason. it is not expensive to replace.

UNLESS! the code light is remaining lit, in which case you need to wiggle the wires for the aerial around the ignition switch.

it doesnt matter what the weather is lol, happens in all conditions, its not starting at the moment, so how can i check it?

no not the weather, the engine temperature. if it always starts when it hasnt been used in the previous few hours, and the problem only happens when it has been used in the last couple of hours, then the crank sensor is pretty certain.

my friend stuck his computer on it, its not the spark, its not the crank sensor, apparently the engine isn't getting any fuel, its priming ok so theres something between the tank an engine stopping it, maybe the cut off switch is jammed

the cut off switch would stop it priming, it cuts the pump's earth.

my m8 just been round, hes with the RAC, its 1am lol neighbours weren't happy, sprayed it with "easy start" an she fired up straight away, so he reckons its my fuel pump
