weird light

Anyone know what the warning light is that looks like a car with a lock next to it? could it be the immobiliser or something, it came on for a few seconds the other day and went off and haven't seen it since.

Re: weird light

Have you looked in the handbook under warning lights?

I had this explination from littlepip17

you might want to check conectors or you may find it loses power when you want to start it

the code box reads the key code then when it's happy that it's a key it recognises it sends the red keys master code stored within it to the engine ecu the engine ecu then sends a reply and the code light is extinguished engine is allowed to start normally happening with in 0.7 of a second

if the engine is running at the time the code box loses and regains power it is happy and running already so will not send a reply

so when the code box regains power it will read the code again except it send a signal to engine ecu get no reply and keep the light on as it sees no reply as a fault nothing to worry about

sometimes can happen directly after starting due to cranking lowering voltage to much in the system but if it's happening randomly wile your driving then you may have some lose connections on the code box
