Best option really is to get a new one But if moneys tight Rub it down with a wire brush and/or Wet and dry Once its mainly clean, wash it and let it dry once clean, you can apply a substance called Rust Killer, Its a Liquid which you paint on, that will prevent any rust on there getting worse, it usually dries a blacky blue colour, once its dry, simply just respray it a colour you want, but since its pretty hard to see, black will do fine ![]() If its half rusty half paint still, do it all, scrub the pain off, to give an even coverage Also use High Temp Paint as well, otherwise it will just flake straight off again Ziggy | |||

| Re: Best way to prolong life of sump? Rust eaters is Ok but a palava. Hammerite paints can be applide onto rust. Just steam clene first. No probs.

| Re: Best way to prolong life of sump? Hammerite chips extremely easily, so prob not ideal for underside of a car. high temp paint with an underseal would be better.
