Right, I have no idea why but my trip comp is showing 45mpg... but when i calculated the actual consumption from the milage and amount of petrol it worked out at about 22mpg over 150miles, and 100 of those miles were motorway at 70mph!

I have had the car remapped at red dot and had the gsr kit put on.
This should have increased my mpg

and i know people are going to say ease off the accelerator... but why is the trip computer soo badly out and why is it drinking fuel?
Also after the remap the car now struggles to idle consistantly.. the revs waver (only a bit.. it doesnt affect the rev counter its just noticeable by ear)
It sounds as if the car is going to stall everytime i pull up to traffic lights :bang:

I tried getting in contact with red dot but i couldnt get through :(

also i had the car fully checked yesterday... full diagnostics and emmissions test.. and everything was spot on.
I thought it was the O2 sensor but according to their diagnostic machiene its all working fine.

well it was actually 25quid... and the air filter was only fitted 2 weeks ago... and the actual mpg wasnt that great before the remap etc
What could it be? I really need to get it sorted soon as its costing me loads on fuel :(

possibly a stupid answer and probably done this already but have you reset the trip mileage, mpg etc. as the trip mpg is the average since resetting.

I know somebody who did a diagnostics but it turned out even though it was saying the lambda (o2 sensor) sensor was showing fine, he had it replaced and it was that in the end. I got my diagnositcs and it showed my lambda sensor was out, ive bought another one and will attempt to swap over myself tommorw, this is also the cause if you have a sudden problem where you car is drinking fuel and unususal iddling revs like its gonna stall (like my car) and by the sounds yours too.

mine revs funny from time to time when idle. is it easy to replace? how much should it cost? i obviously don't want to do it if it turns out not to be that so how can i be sure?

What voltages was the lambda showing?

I don't know, he apparently did a diagnostics check so i don't know if he actually looked at the voltages.

I took it to red dot after getting it mapped and he checked for faults and the computer was showing the o2 sensor as a fault. He reset it and it came back again, this is when i took it to a garage.

The only reason im not changing it myself is because the car has an extended warrenty on it and the o2 sensor is covered but they need to diagnose it first.
I'm thinking of taking it to another garage tmo because the amount of fuel its using now is stupid :bang:

yeh did that mate.. this has been happening for a while and i have reset it a few times since it started

Right i've had both the lambda sensors changed today as they were both showing on the fault codes - ( at a decent local garage =D)
It is idleing properly without hesitating now so im guessing its all sorted now, i will update on the mpg readings in the morning.

Right... trip mpg is reading 42mpg... and working it out over comes to around 40ish, so all in all its good again (this was 250miles motorway with 5 people in the car and the rest all town driving) and it cost £109 for two sensors fitted :D
