It looks just like yours. Im guessing the 90 degree bend is 103mm or did you have to mod yours to get it on. My only concern is what to do with that little breather on the back.

OLDSCHOOL , On the GSR Kit is there an attachment for this?
I didnt really have to modify it that much. The 90 degree bend is a reducer on that kit, so it did fit pretty well. Just had to secure it really well with a jubilee clip.

The only problem i had with it was that the blue tube was the same diameter as the breather pipe, so i had to connect them with a smaller piece of pipe inbetween and clip it tight, but not too tight so that the air still had a good space to flow

Re: Modding New Car Help Part 2 INDUCTION

no-one will ever give a K&N a good review, at least no-one who knows anything.

there is nothing wrong with the filters themselves, its the fact that the "kits" are little more than a filter stuck on the throttle body, sucking in hot air and losing power. At least, this is true for puntos and most small cars.

you would be better making your own kit, with the intake routed down low into a cool spot, and the piping as smooth as possible.

this is why everyone bangs on about GSR, it may be pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Don't do the K&N method of sitting a conical filter on top of your engine, as above, this will suck in hot air and actually lose you performance and fuel economy. The best thing to do is, like you suggested, to get a pipe and run it to a colder area in the engine bay, with the filter at the end.

As for the oil breather, you could simply put a small breather filter on the end, but in order for your car to pass MOT the oil breather pipe must be connected to the main induction filter and throttle body.

Here is a picture of my kit, basically this is what you are looking to create: The filter sits in a cold area, getting lots of air flow, and the breather pipe is connected to it.

yes.... its a great attempt for a home job, and far better than K&N or green cotton etc, but still not as good as any GSR kit though.

Cost him over £100 to do though
