Re: new punto owner!!!!!

First small prob!

I sometimes get an airbag warning show up saying they have failed!? Sometimes it just goes away, if not just have to turn it on and off! Anyone have any experience of this??

Gave it a wash and polish 2day! Lots of small stone chips tho!

Why does the volume on the radio not stay the same??? Keep having to turn it up everytime i start it up!!!!

And does anyone know what size wheels dave has on his punto?? the white comps, they look stunning!!! And how low hes gone?? Or if Dave reads this he can tell me!

As ChrisUK said they are 17's but I don't think he runs them anymore, I think he runs 15's now. He might sell you the 17" Compomotives if you ask him?

And I think he's running FK Coilovers and is probably lowered around 60mm, I run FK Coilovers as well and highly recommend them. Car handles like a Go Cart on them.

I got my FK Silverline coilovers for a great price of £445 delivered from http://www.rimstyle.com, they have gone up to £505 now though.

I would recommend getting the Silverlines though if you are going to get any FK coilovers, they are the same as the Highsports except they are made out of stainless steel so won't rust like the Highsports do.

I wouldn't get the Konigsport's or Silverline X's, they are overkill for road use IMO.

Re: new punto owner!!!!!

ive just lowered my 1.2 8v mk2b 30mm front and 15mm on the back just to stop it looking like its on stils and its going to blow over. They are PI springs and won them on ebay brand new for 23 quid which was and ace buy. Handling has improved massivly. before on standard springs when i booted it the front of the car came up like a mile and when i cnahed gear it went down loads but now it stays flat and its stays flat around bends going fast. No body roll im so pleased i did get them now. Lowering FTW!

ill post up a pic later

To Do List: 40mm throttle body, red dot remap, maybe a gsr induction kit in the future, Stilo Claws!

Get the FK's, you won't regret it. Might as well do it right the first time.

Re: new punto owner!!!!!

If not wouldn't matter, still be a cracking car, lightweight, fast, etc!

Has anyone ever put any other engine into a m2b sporting or similar??? Just wondered!

Think the T-JET would be the best engine for it though, still quite light etc.

Re: new punto owner!!!!!

There has been talk about putting the Punto GT engine into Mk2 Punto's in the past and I think 1 or 2 people might have done it. But that engine is old now and will most likely need a full rebuild before you even start plus you will need custom engine mounts.

The T-Jet engine is a much better choice because it is more modern and should bolt straight onto your current engine mounts. Also as it is more modern it will generally speaking be more reliable than the old Punto GT lump.

All I can say is that a T-Jet engine in a Mk2/Mk2b Punto would make a cracking car.
