HGT Electric Sunroof

Owned my HGT for over a year now but never used the sunroof. Anyway this morning prodded my hand up looking for the interior light and caught the sunroof button and opened it accidentally.

Read the manual looking for how it operates but me been thck, can't work out how to make sure it is locked properly. The manual seems to suggest that pressing the switch in the opposite direction will close the sunroof, which it does however it immediately starts to open in the opposite direction, fex, if I am closing from spoiler the sunroof starts to disappear into the roof lining there doesn't seem any point where the sunroof is locked close. It seems that it is left for me to make a judgment that is correctly closed. Does that seem correct?

At the moment I have the sunroof in position that looks closed but that is only by sight looking over the top of the car, this maybe correct but with all of the rain about I don't want to take any chances.

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS: On a different note my switch seems to work the opposite way around to what owners manual suggests anybody elses like this?

Re: HGT Electric Sunroof

dont know if it is the correct method ,but with mine it operates pretty much as youve said
it doesnt seem to "lock" into position and sometimes it seems like best guess, cant say Ive ever had water leak

if your worried about rain then i,d put it into position and pour a glass of water over sunroof

Yeah, other systems I have seen seem to have a noticable 'lock' so you know that the sunroof is correctly closed. May ask at Fiat the next time I get the car serviced just in case there is a trick that I am missing. Anyway, heavy rain overnight and can't find any water in the car (touchwood) so I guess it is correctly closed.

I am probably just a bit paranoid because I had a major leak through the passengers door seal last year that caused a puddle in both the rear and front footwells. I keep checking around the car for signs of any possible sign of a water leaks.

Thanks for your help.
