Re: not good blitzed through a very big puddle.

sump was probably on it's way out then puddle has knocked a big rusty hole it it probably doing a little more than 30 mph i thinks

this would then rapidly fill the engine with water from under neath and it would end up goin in to the combustionchanbers thou the crank case breather system and inlet manifold

what you think

because the air intake is high up and aboth the wheel arch area an ould never take in any water

unless you get any squirting round the back of the light but that would be a major ford surely

Re: not good blitzed through a very big puddle.

ok ive had a look under the engine.. theres 3 fairly big holes in the sump.. it was full with oil and water! can i remove the sump without removing the gearbox! by looking i can only see that i have to remove it! grrr xD

something has severely damaged the sump as there is one hole about an inch long

Re: not good blitzed through a very big puddle.

sorry mk2 punto x reg 5 door elx!

also the holes in the sump were caused by something big not water making holes or knocking out rusty holes..

they are tare marks in the metal and it has folded back... fresh silver marks
