Servicing My Punto

Hi, I have a Mk1 1.2 60s Fait punto.

It has got 83,000 on the clock!

It was last Serviced in January this year, and has done 10,000 scince that!

The car has full history, but i dont have enough money to have it done this year.

So i think i will just have to do it myself...This is where i need your help;

Please can you tell me what i need to do!

Thnaks in advance.

Re: Servicing My Punto

but you said it has service history, so look in it and see whats been done.
different things need doing at different miles, if there are no sheets saying what was done last then you will need to service every thing inc cam belt and tensioner

Re: Servicing My Punto

If you dont know the service history of the car (ie exactly what been done) then I would be inclined to change EVERYTHING. Brake fluid, engine oil, coolent, gearbox oil AND timing belt. Obv inspect the disks and pads to see if they need changing too.
If you do it all yourself will cost you under £100 and then you can start afresh knowing everthing has been done.

Cheers,
Alan

Re: Servicing My Punto

o yea and
check tyre wear pressure and condition
lubricate all locks and hinges with grease
fill up washer bottle
check gearbox oil level
check all lights
check brake wear and condition
might even want to wip the drums off and inspect and clean the shoes on a car with your mileage

and so on
