| Today I was driving down the M6 and suddenly I looked at my dials and to my shock the heating temp guage was thorugh the roof and the warining light was on. What could this be beacsue it seems to be holding water fine and the other week (2 weeks max) I had my car checked out to make the sure the Head gasket hadnt gone (as my heating had stopped working). I know the HG colud blow at any time but they would have noticed something. Also about the car its a Punto MK2B/3 Active Spt 16v with 39k OTC. Is it just a case of a new radiator as mine had a few dents and scrates from a previous owners crash?

| Re: Punto MK2B/3 Overheating Also reading other posts I remembered I did bleed the radiator the other day so could it just be a case of something wrong with that?

| I Am Legend | Re: Punto MK2B/3 Overheating When you say your heating stopped working do you mean by blowing cold air instead of hot air? If so most cases are an air lock or faulty thermostat.

| Re: Punto MK2B/3 Overheating Turns out it was a water pump and not the dreaded head gasket, still a pricey job and while im there the garage said that they should do the cam belt too as they have to take it off to get to it and that its not healthy in puuting in an old belt back onto the car. £200 for both inc labour that good?
