| MK II broken bonnet cable - easy way to open Hi, just thought I'd post on this subject as in my case it was very easy to open the bonnet. From under car reach up and grasp cable outer shell, (just before it disappears into the lock mechanism) and push it toward the vehicle off-side. Lock should pop open. This will work even when the inner is broken (as it often does, right behind the lock) (Keep in mind that the cable goes the long way round the engine compartment!)
