Gutted :(

Hey guys, just thought i wud share with u my experience this morning. i was cummin down a road which was very wet with a bad corner and wasnt speeding. the car skidded i braked hard by normal reaction and the car skidded more. i hit the kirb and den went into a lampost which had to be in the right place of course. all my front left side is smashed in. wheel is totally knackerd and der only 2 weeks old. the car is going to cost an arm and a leg for repairs and i dnt want to go through my insurance as i havent told them about my wheels or lowering it etc. so dey probs wont pay out. also the lampost i hit has now snapped wires so i will probably be getting a bill for that. i friend from a garage said the car wud probably be wrote off if it went to the insurance but he said its not as bad as it looks and can b fixed. but its not going to be cheap but will be alot cheaper if i go through him. all ways has to happen when you need the money doesnt it.
dont do da same as wot i did.
mikey

Hi Mikey, Thats exactly what I did when I was 17. Its years ago but I can still `hear` how the bodywork crumpled and was much less `solid` than I thought it was..
Hope you get it sorted,

Dont blame yourself, a lot of us learnt the hard way about tyre grip, yes, you live to drive again, thats the main thing. Stay positive, others have done the same ( and worse)

Re: Gutted :(

Agreed we've all done stupid things, but maybe now you'll actually declare your modifications to your insurance.

I got hit up the arse by some young driver who had the bean can exhaust, badly sprayed bodykit etc and he'd not declared any of it, which meant I had to chase him directly for money as his insurance was void, which wasn't easy, compared to chasing insurance companies, which still can be a pain in the backside

by the way, am not calling you one of them young drivers with all the awful mods, sometimes it can be done nicely
