I've got one on my 53 plate Mk2 1.2 8v. The model is 57-0455 (should be the same for yours - this runs from the beginning of Mk2's):

http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57-0455

You can also get a look at the installation instructions (although they are included).

http://www.kandn.com/instructions/57-0455.pdf

ANY advice - ask. I've got one on mine and it's an absolute doddle to fit.

Yeah that is an induction kit- not just a replacement filter for your existing airbox.
It will make it sound nice when u get the revves up and the pedal to the floor......coates is right they are really easy to fit

Good point - all that useful information and I forgot to say it was an induction kit!

Another point - this WILL affect your insurance premium.

Mine went up about £35 for the year. Well worth it in my opinion.

you could go for the BMC CDA induction kit with carbon air box where the throttle body is on the 8v is poor for most filters gets to much hot air including the K&N but with BMC this is not a problem also sounds nice to

I'd like to know that too - if only changing the engine makes a difference to your insurance then either you're paying a lot up front or they are seriously open-minded!!

:o)

its frizzel insurance- the policy isnt in my name, im a named driver, so i dont (officially) own the car. My dad rang up and said we were thinkin of putting a s/s system/k&n on the car- wud it affect insurance???? they said thats only minor mods to the car. It wud increase when the engine gets swapped for bigger one or the ecu is upgraded.
So the premium is only 450 quid due to not having my own insurance..... ;)
