(G) Wiper linkage problem

Hello all, i seam to have quite a common problem with the linkage of my X-reg Punto. Its quite hard to explain exactly where the problem is but i'll try. One of the arms has popped out of the other arm inside engine compartment , if that makes sence, it seams that a rubber bung/washer has disappeared. Apparently i have to buy the whole wiper linkage and wondered if anyone knew a way round it. I tried to glue a new washer on and it seams to be holding but it's not the best solution.
Any ideas please?

My boss had this problem on his HGT and fixed it by using some garden string to tie the two bits together.

I also had this problem and (before I knew about this site) went into a Fiat dealer and paid £170 for a new motor fitting.

very very common problm infact you are 3rd person in last week to post about it, infact you can pretty much gaurante that ever mk2 will suffer this.
the linkage comes as one part including the motor.

or you can geta standard replacement one from www.shop4parts.co.uk about £70 from there i think.
