head rests on punto mk1

Hi,
i own a punto mk1, and i want to remove the front head rests. i tried pushing and pulling but without any result.
so - how do you remove the front head rests?

you cannot, simple as.

the ones where it doesn't come off (hard plastic nastyness) you have to remove the covering from the top part of the seat (fidly, and getting the clamp back onto the bottom is a bitch of a task), then there are two clips inside the seat that stop it coming off, pull em with pliers and you can get em out


but for the love of god don't ask me how to get the staple/clamp backonto the fabric at teh bottom, its VERY tight and fidly.

Iv'e got a punto active 2002 model and having the same problem with the head rests, i want to put some new seat covers on but the dam things won't come off.

you have a mk2, they are different, and the hard plastic headrest/head breaker might not come off atall.

mk1's they DO come off, just require a butt load of effort, mainly putting the chair back together again

Got one side loose just by twisting it but the other won't budge.

might be corrosion in the metal post, as their not made out of any fancy material just chromo steel I would guess, so with all the damp and condesation we get in te UK, it'll be seized on

don't go using any wd40 or anything, the car WILL stink of it for years brute force and some cursing is defo the way forward

think I'll leave it till 2moro its throwing it down here! when i said got one side loose if you twist the head rest it clicks and becomes free and you can lift it up and down on that side push it back down and it clicks again and its back in place and won't lift up very strange?

Hi I have a 1995 punto 75 elx. In the User Manual it says push the button to remove the headrest. Where is the button I can't find it. Any help please?

What are head rests? Or are we on about head restraints

Headrest or Head restraints on the front passenger seats. These are the cloth covered upholstered ones in the punto 75 ELX. Again, the user manual says press the button to release/remove them. I can't find the button!!!!
