| Punto 1.2 8v Mk1 Knocking Noise When Pulling Away And Braking? Hey guys, As the title suggests, when i pull away the driver-side wheel arch (not sure exactly where its coming from but its that area) theres a knocking noise. Same happens when i brake. Even the smallest amount. It seems to happen when the weight shifts from back to front and vice versa. Any ideas?

If you have had you disks checked or changed recently it might be a worthwhile exercise to fit new.

| Re: Punto 1.2 8v Mk1 Knocking Noise When Pulling Away And Braking? Have you tried for excess movement in the cv joints or differental ,as bearings whine or rumble ,and discs and shoes would be only be a problem when you braked, or if the discs are warped .just a thought before you spend any dosh.

| Re: Punto 1.2 8v Mk1 Knocking Noise When Pulling Away And Braking? Years ago my Triumph Spitfire started to knock very badly. Garage discovered wheel nuts were loose. No charge and slightly less embarrassing than a wheel bowling off down the road as in old movies! Probably not the cause of your problem but might be worth a quick check.

... the near side nuts keep on undoing themselves... second time in 3 weeks... at least i know what it is next time, and nip it in the bud double quick.don't want what a friends Pajero did happening... wheel fell off while travelling at speed.

| Re: Punto 1.2 8v Mk1 Knocking Noise When Pulling Away And Braking? lol, shoot! here guys, btw... (doesnt seem right starting a new thread) where can i get something to re-thread the hub ? My locking nuts, which are CRAP tbh, gna get new ones, have rounded themselves off after years of use and the hubs have rounded too. I thought put in a normal nut and that shud sort it, but it just rounded that lol.. Any ideas?
