| Front Shocks on Mk1 1999 I have a leaky shock, just started, do I need a spring compressor to change them. Also are the sprind part of the shock? Thanks

| Re: Front Shocks on Mk1 1999 you need to take off the wheel,s disconnect the wishbone/hub from the bottom of the shock. undo the bolts at the top of the shock tower (engine bay) and your shock is off.... then clamp the springs, remove them and fit the new ones as you removed these!

| Re: Front Shocks on Mk1 1999 I took my shocks with the springs on to my local garage and they took the old springs off and put my new springs on for free - i tried with the spring compressors but they kept slipping and was a real pain, i even managed to bend a spring compressor ![]()
